dripless shaft couplers

dripless shaft couplers

Anyone have info or an opinion on dripless shafts? My boat is a 1996 355 with 1 3/8 ' Shafts. thx. csdaman2

Guess since our '98 355 has the regular packing with no dripping with 600 hrs on them, I can not see the extra expense. With the newer Teflon packing that is available I would just repack as they are.

I thought they were actually supposed to drip unless they were 'dripless', Something about lubricating the packing.

Thanks guys for your responses. I think after hearing the price I'll just repack with the teflon packing material. CS

Bobeast; u r correct. It appears mine may have had some type of grease applied also. I just know my bilges are dry and there is no dripping going on?
