Sharp Carousel Micro Convec Oven replacement.

Postby Tomion » September 8th, 2018, 1:43 pm

My 2001 Carver 444 Has a Sharp Microwave / Convection oven M# R820BK I need to replace as the digital readouts are bad. Ive been told dont try and fix but replace. I am having difficulty getting it out. The front bottom foot pads had some tacky substance on them I broke loose but still wont budge. There doesnt seem to be any acces point to get to side bottom or top.

Lots of times they are screwed in from underneath.....picture they are sitting on a wood piece that has screws that come from below, maybe behind a light.....somewhat ingenious, just have a real good look.....the one in ours had a screw behind the mount for the blinds ...... :-O
The above is strictly my opinion always based on years of doing...remember to support local business , it pays back.

before you just replace, go look for the part on repairclinic.com. They have pretty good prices on stuff and it might not be that expensive or hard to do.

(that is, if you liked it. If you never thought it was that great, then go find a good one to replace it with)

Hi, did you ever figure out how to remove the microwave? I’m in the same position. Thanks!

Any luck figuring out how to remove the microwave? I need to replace the one in our 2002 Carver 396.

Which galley do you have? I have the 2004 extended salon model with the under counter refrigerator and stove on the forward bulkhead. I removed mine to add an exhaust fan for the stove. My recollection is that once I removed the trim around the front. I was able to remove any front mounting screws and withdraw it. I do agree, they may hide some fasteners. On the ES, you can remove the panel in the back of the locker of the forward cabin and access the rear of the unit, but I don't remember having to remove fasteners inside.
