80s Mariner Cockpit Floor Removal

Postby BenTen » April 2nd, 2019, 8:52 pm

Can anyone give me an idea on how difficult the rear cockpit floor is to remove? How heavy, can it be lifted with several people helping or is machinery required?

I'm trying to prepare for my genset install next week so any insight is appreciated!
Thanks,
Ben in SC

About 10 years ago I helped my friend wth a genset install in his 80's mariner we lifted it out by hand I think there were 4 of us, we had some on lookers bUT I don't recall them helping. It's doable with out machinery also we sat it on the dock behind the boat as we did this install with boat in the water

Yep! It's doable with 2-4 people, did it on our 1986 32' mariner when I replaced the engines. BTW now's the time if there is any other services or replacements you thought you might want to do, do it! So much easier when the cockpit floor is out of the way!

Okay guys, what's the secret? The cockpit deck on my 78 Voyager 33 is wider than the tunnels.

Gunnels not "tunnels ". I hate auto-correct.
