hey all would love some help googles not helping !

I have a 1994 280 express with twin v6 volvo penta 4.3 litre engines
It currently has 2 4 barrel holly carbs i do not believe these are stock does anyone know what the stock carbs are
Or why would these be installed just seems to be using to much fuel

It is possible they are original. I would check into it and be sure they are marine carbs with the proper venting to prevent fire / explosion. That being said, if it is tuned properly with fresh oil, clean spark arrestor, good plugs, correct timing etc. Another brand carb will not make any significant change in fuel consumption.

The 4.3 V-6 came with both 2 bbl and 4 bbl carbs, depending on model. The 4bbl was a 600 CFM Holley. If it's painted red, it's likely original. If it's silver or not painted, it could be a replacement.

IMO Holleys are over jetted, and good carb guy will rejet and adjust them for max fuel and power efficiency! :beergood:
