I can say that there was some idea or prevention in place with our boat.....all the inspection plates on the aluminium arch were held in place with nylon machine screws.

Now that wouldn't work with the lugs obviously.
The above is strictly my opinion always based on years of doing...remember to support local business , it pays back.
