As bud indicates, the length that you see on that spec sheet is the hull, without the optional pulpit and swim platforms. I've not seen a 3607 without either of those two options, so you'd almost think they were standard. The overall length is about 41' with those options

Carver would furnish more info on spec sheets as the years went by. The 85 3607 simply disclosed the hull length. In the '89 version of the same vessel, they disclosed more details on that spec sheet. See link. Season getting closer! 8-) er

The main reason for asking is our marina fees, for exactly the same slip, went from $2200 for 30 - 35ft to $3400 for 36-40ft. Looking at a different marina.

Becomes kinda unfair when your boat is 35'7" compared to the one which measure 35'4. $1200 for a few inches hurts. All places I have seen are always by the foot.

Our marina charges for the length of your slip and not the LOA of your boat. Probably the fair way to do it. LOA is normally for talk at the bar and the length in the model number is for dockage, lockage and storage. Lol.

Our marina uses LOA* for storage costs, but uses actual dock length and width for the dock charges. If your boat fits in the well, that's up to you but you might only have 2" of free space on your beam and your pulpit might be overhanging your parked car. They do limit how far past the last piling you can stick out too, but generally a boat slightly larger than 40' will fit in a 40' well, perhaps up to 43-45' without too much of a problem.

*EDIT: To clarify, for storage they actually use total length, which would include any overhanging anchor or dingy that extends beyond the swim platform. Helped my friend stand his dingy up vertically so it didn't overhang the platform to save a few bucks one year.

My marina charges by the size of the dock. I am in a 35' dock. It's actually 35' 9" but they call it a 35' dock. For winter storage they charge by centerline length. In my case my 3007 is 34' long.
