I can"t find my seacock!

Postby Loria » April 6th, 2021, 11:27 am

:banghead: I just bought this boat. I flushed the toilet when I got onboard and it sprayed me in the face! I am not getting water to the bathroom so I assume my valve is closed. I have looked and looked and I cannot find it. I do not know if this is a fresh water system or what. It is a 1993 carver express. I know it is stupid of me but due to my parents health it's where I live and everything has happened so fast. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ok, get a good flashlight and open every hatch and opening you find. Bear in mind that Carver does a very good job of hiding some of their openings...under stairs, inside cabinets, under berths, under carpeting, etc.
Most likely, all of your through hulls will be in the engine room. Find all of them and follow hoses to figure out what each is used for.
Make sure all seacocks are open and try flushing again. Make sure your dockside water connection is off and your water system pump is off as well. If you are getting water to the head, it is raw water. No water, turn on your dockside water and try again and if it works this time, you have fresh water flushing. If still no water, you have a head issue that may require a rebuild kit. Don't panic as it is a fairly simple fix for anyone who can turn a screw driver and wrench set. It will take an hour or two for the rebuild.

Mid Ships Port Side.. Pg 134

https://carveryachts.blob.core.windows. ... _93_v2.pdf

By the looks of it, somewhere under the head itself, or just aft under the port side access hatch under the bed in your mid cabin (see page 44/43).
