1987 3207 sliding window glass

Postby Marty B » August 14th, 2021, 6:23 am

Can anyone tell me how to remove just the glass panels ( sliding pieces ) from my newly purchased 3207 fixer upper. I have studied and can not figure it out yet. I was hoping to just lift each panel up in a deeper top track and move the bottom out of the lower track to remove. Not so in this case and I suppose I can understand that these panels could make there way out in the same way on rough water......Who knows ???

Thanks

I'm not sure you you CAN remove them. I had similar windows on my 3607 and would be surprised if you could.

However, that said, there might be a way. There is a "spine" that's snapped into the track below (and I believe above) the windows and that's what the window slides on. Perhaps if you remove that "spine" then there might be enough clearance to lift the windows up and over the bottom track.

You can also replace the 'brushes' that are in the track on both sides of the window. You just yank the old stuff out and the new stuff just snaps in place little by little. There's a couple other threads about that on here somewhere.
