1995 390 cpmy Hull construction

Postby Georgeviking » September 28th, 2021, 7:06 pm

Is it me?? But for the life of me I can’t get a straight answer on is this a solid fiberglass Hull
Or is it cored ? I’m about to make a purchase and it will be a bit taxing on us but we so love the layout
Just can’t find if sides are cored past water line is the transom cored past the water line
Stated that you could go by model to know think ending in 7 or higher meant solid and lower meant cored well at 390 I don’t know if 0 is good or bad lol. Any info would be so appreciated :banghead:

a 1995 390 should be solid glass below the water line.
Your decks will be cored, not sure about the transom.

Many boats are cored, even some new million dollar plus boats. Its not an issue unless the core gets wet.

Have a good surveyor check the boat.

Thanks viper we actually wound up purchasing the vessel, on my second look was fortunate to find original owners manual where it proudly stated the Hull was indeed solid glass. Just a bit more piece of mind lol

And, the depth of the fiberglass was measured multiple times while the hull was being hand laid. No way there could be any shallow areas. Too bad we don't have access to the build logs anymore, or you could have secured that data. No issue with hull strength, unless it was damaged any subsequently repaired at some point. 8-) er
