Carver 41 Cockpit Motor Yacht.. Where is the waste water tank switch?

Postby Gerard Chuah » May 15th, 2022, 3:21 am

Hi everyone
I have a 2006 Carver 41 Sport Motor Yacht
My aft waste water tank is full and for the life of me, can't find where the switch to empty the waste water tank! Is it on the main AC or DC control panel?
Or in the engine room?
Much appreciated for your kind help

You may not have a switch to empty the waste tanks and only have the pump out fittings on the deck. Overboard discharge was an option.
If you have a pump, the breaker would be in your DC panel labeled "waste pump" you would also have a switch at the pump so you can't accidently discharge waste. Also, if you have two tanks, there would be a Y valve near the pump to select which tank to empty.

If you have 2 tanks, most likely each will have its own deck discharge fitting.
Agree it’s a good chance you don’t have overboard discharge as it is illegal to do so unless you are outside the 3 mile coastal limit.

Agreed on the deck pump out fittings. But if he does have an overboard discharge pump, usually only one pump and one thru hull with a Y valve before the pump.

If it is a 2006 42CMY then yes it has 2 independent tanks/systems. I do not have the option on mine however there are 2 breakers labeled Macerator in the 12v DC panel beside the stairs leading out with no no breakers installed on mine. See if there are switches there or not which will tell you if it came with it.

No clue what the waste dump laws are in Singapore however most places dumping is restricted too far off shore in the ocean. If it is restricted in your area, a pump out facility must be available at most marinas.

I changed the labeling with a P touch so Macerator cannot be seen however this is the panel I am referring to. I belive it was on the left hand side where I labeled them spares.
