Postby Kgray30 » June 2nd, 2022, 7:31 pm

I hit a log in my boat. I bent the prop shafts, rudder, and the strut need replaced. Any idea where i can get these parts? 4 blade prop 20x20 1-3/8.

Darn! Hopefully you have it insured, that's going to be a big bill. Does your marina have a service department that can get you a quote for repairs?

I wouldn't totally give up on the props being repairable, unless you've had a good shop look at them and tell you exactly that. I'd had, and have seen, some pretty messed up props that I was surprised were brought back into 'nearly new' condition!!

The shafts are the easy part. Just really need to know the length. Easy to machine from stock, and stock is usually pretty available.

Even if you end up getting new props, you might consider having the old ones repaired even if they have to shave some diameter down to get them done. You can compromise a little on "optimum" if it gets you back on the water in hours instead of days or weeks because you have a spare set handy.
