It is important to remember that hull speed is when the boat is moving basically on the water..... as the boat accelerates it gets lower in the water and starts to push a wave from the bow, this is where efficiency drops. You can see this by watching the water turbulence at the stern behind the platform change as the boat speeds up and the stern wave forms, this will give you a rough idea of where your boats hull speed is.

Most of these calculators are based on a displacement type hull, not planing hulls which is what we have, but will give a reasonable ballpark number. Planing hulls from different makers and over the boat lines from Carver or others have different shapes and characteristics so LWL can be quite different even for boats of the same advertised length.Longer boats are more efficient for the most part, consider a sail boat.....to get more speed you heel the boat over increasing the LWL .

All that said there will also be a difference between the best GPH speed and the best MPG speed, all this based on time with the engines running vs distance covered. Its all theory and marine design after all, just go and enjoy the boat for what it is.....
