Seawater Wash Fitting Location

Postby nootcheez » July 13th, 2021, 4:55 pm

New to Carver ownership so this may be a dumb question.
Where is the fitting located for seawater wash. Owner guide only says aft deck or cockpit. No graphic I can find indicating location.
Thanks!

Welcome aboard.

Not all builds had them, it may have been an option. A few members here have or have had the same model, hopefully they will chime in with some insight. For the vintage, it would be in the aft cockpit and some had them at the bow as well.

Yes, it is an option. There is a switch on the 12v panel for washdown pump so I think this unit has it.

I have one in 2 locations. One is by the anchor which is supposed to used to wash down the anchor and the other is beside the transom shower. Yours should be in either of those locations.

Believe what I say, you may indeed have one but just because the electrical panel has a breaker/switch definitely doesn't mean you do. My 405 has breakers for all kinds of things I don't have. Ie transfer pump for fuel, if I was a diesel probably be there but I'm gas, I had a breaker for washdown but no. I have since installed one. Location I have is anchor area and swimplatform. Best wishes.

Arrigato gozaimas for all the advice. Will look at the locations mentioned. If not, I can use dock water supply.

There are no dumb questions. The only "dumb" question is the one you don't ask.

Also cannot find shore water hookup. There is a covered port next to shore power labeled tv/phone.
Again thank you for your help and advice.

On my 3807, the dockside inlet fitting is on the starboard side hull just below where you board the boat. For that vintage, it's probably just a chrome or stainless steel fitting with a screw on cap unless a previous owner replaced it with a different kind.

Does anyone know where it is on a 280 Express?
