ddmusser wrote:Source of the post I have installed this same setup on our 300 Searay sundancer 2 years ago. We now have a 95 355 aft cabin that I will be installing a lewmar 1000 profish shortly, I hope due to our Marina being closed. I live on the West side of Michigan. If you have any questions I would be happy to help you in any way I can. I found in our 355 the wiring is already in place other than the switch at the helm. I used marine tinned wire for everything which can get a little pricey.
That's awesome I'm expecting 25 ft of red and 25ft of black any day now if USPS stops lying. I have a plan for the install I just need a nice day and I can get ready to poke holes in my boat lol. I hope Things lighten up a bit my boat is already in the water, but as you know I'm unable to go anywhere lol do you think I went to big with the wire running 4 guage instead of the called for 8??????

tomschauer wrote:Source of the post You need the 4 gauge wire. Hopefully you bought true 4 AWG stranded, tinned copper wire. If you mistakenly bought some copper clad aluminum wire that is supposedly 4 gauge wire for stereo amplifier install or similar, return it. Or at best you will have nuisance breaker trips, at worst, you will smoke your windless motor pretty quickly. Don't skimp on proper wiring on your boat.
I didnt skimp on the wiring lol I purchased the proper wires. I don't like fires lol
