Check the condition of the plug at the dockside end also. If there is any discolouration around one of the contacts, replace that plug too or the entire cord. Don't take any shortcuts here.
This would be a good time to consider upgrading to the SmartPlug. Best plug on the market for recreational boating IMO. Helps prevent what you're going through now.

While you're at it, check the condition of the hardware on the other circuit as well.
