Throttle cable replacement '96 400

Postby hausherrs » August 18th, 2016, 9:00 am

I have ordered the upper to lower throttle control cables and plan on replacing them next week. Has anyone here ever done this on a similar platform? Any pointers?

It doesn’t appear to be too difficult. I am able to put my eyes on most of the cable from point a to b. The tricky spot is going to be the riser and I’m hopeful that there are no inaccessible sections tie wrapped.

I am replacing the cables because the port side seems to be stretched and I have trouble getting the rpm down to an idle. I have to slap it down from about 1/4. In the lower helm I do not have this problem.

Thanks!

Steven
