bow thruster in a 4207

Postby glennmac » December 6th, 2016, 11:24 pm

I am thinking of installing a bow thruster on my 1991 4207. has anybody done this? It looks like I might have to cut a hole in the floor of my forward cabin to get to an area where the motor and tunnel go. Is this doable, or will it weaken the hull in any way? Any thoughts or insights would be greatly appreciated

I have watched "several" videos of this. My conclusion is that unless you are really good with fiberglass and gelcoat refinishing hire a professional for the job!!!!

As long as you don't cut through a cross member that might be there bracing stringers, just cutting access in the floor for this application won't weaken the hull.

Are you doing the installation or having someone do it for you?
