refinishing interior salon wall

Postby Grafunkus » August 20th, 2017, 3:54 pm

So, Hubby and I plan to, over the next year or so, replace the ugly green carpet that the previous own put in on the floor and one of the walls in the salon. It appears that the carpet on the wall is glued to the hull. Will take any suggestions on how to remove safely. We are talking about just putting some 1/8" thick Baltic Birch plywood on the wall, glued with construction adhesive and properly finished. Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Heat will help with the real stubborn areas. The hard part about adding a rigid product like wood to a wall that's the inside of the hull is that it'll likely be a very uneven surface and is why products such as carpet, fabric liners, etc. are used. They mold to the contours you're bound to run into. There are some better fabric liner options on the market now, even the plastic weaves look great and are being used in some hi end brands. I'm sure a lot of folks here will like to see what you come up with and how it turns out.
