Sump for 530 Voyager

Postby golgi » June 16th, 2019, 5:37 pm

Hi all, thanks for the wealth of information over the past year!

Looking to replace my sump pump and float switch. The wiring had somehow come out of the switch at the housing. So I'm having to use a utility pump to clear it and keep the bilges clean.

Can anyone recommend or point me to a direct drop in replacement for the pump and switch?

Thanks in advance!!

How about a picture. Shower sump or Bilge unit?

It's the showers/sinks/washer/ac condensate sump tank located in the master, only one on the 530. I'll try to get a photo when I pump it out this morning. I'm going to pull it today so should be able to get some good pics. Thanks

Hello -

On my 450 it is just a standard 1" 1/8 Rule Bilge Pump with a float switch. In the Engine room there is a manual switch on the breaker panel that runs the pump otherwise it is runs when the float switch is activated. If you need to pump out you might try the manual switch in the engine room - perhaps that will be easier than the utility pump.

I completely forgot that was on the panel. Thanks for the reminder!!

I did end up pulling the pump and float. For what it's worth, it was a Rule 3700 pump and 35A float. According to Rule, that's not the correct float switch for that pump. Ordered a new 3700 pump and 37A switch this afternoon and will reinstall next weekend.

Can you tell me where did you locate the sump pump in the master state room? Mine quit and I have opened all the floor hatches but can"t find it. Thanks for any info.

On my 2001 Voyager 530 the pump and float switch is located in the mid-ship Master Stateroom in a floor hatch located at the right foot of the bed. The pump is a Rule 2500 and I replaced the float switch with a Rule-A-Matic float switch
