Ron, can you describe, or add photos, of how you removed your salon windows on the 3807?

Ron, do you have photos of the removal of the windows on your 3807? Or can you describe how to do?

Do you want to start with the aft stateroom windows?

Well, I finally got around to starting this project. Over the winter, I had ordered a roll of the snap-in stuff suggested earlier in this thread, but was unsure how easy it was going to be to get the old stuff out or the new stuff in. Yesterday I got brave and pulled out a couple of the old sections and it was FULL of dirt and decayed insect parts underneath. Took a bit to clean it out and I need to get a better brush for when I do the other sections.

You need a pair of good needle-nosed pliers to pull the old stuff out. Mine came out mostly intact but one of them broke a few times as I pulled a little too hard. Cleaning out the channel after they are out requires a stiff brush with bristles that are at least 2" long. There is also a plastic spine under the window that you can pull out to clean or replace. It snaps in place. I'd like to find a source for that, as it would be nice to replace a couple sections have been worn down.

Putting the new stuff in is much quicker than I thought. Using even smaller needle-nosed pliers, you can get the bottom edge of the new pile in the track and snap the top in place. work 3-4 inches at a time, then slide that back past the window. Keep doing that until that side is all complete.

I used to have a problem what when you hosed the windows down hard some water would leak past and into the boat. Doesn't happen with the new pile, which is nice.

I did take some pics of the work and will clean them up and post them here too.
