Re: Escape window
Once done, put a light coat of silicone grease on the exposed rubber and wipe down with a clean rag. This will keep the rubber pliable and prevent further drying out. There are also dedicated products for this purpose if you prefer. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004B8GTQG/ref=sspa_dk_detail_0?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B004B8GTQG&pd_rd_w=wcmIB&pf_rd_p=45a72588-80f7-4414-9851-786f6c16d42b&pd_rd_wg=Mdc3H&pf_rd_r=V4VRADT13159WPC6DXXY&pd_rd_r=56ee9381-335d-4802-9971-e6de2a761001&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzMllKRFNMOUgySlc5JmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNDg5MTY1WVJEVzk5S1c2S0ZEJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAwMzEyMzdURTZVR05ISFdWWU0md2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9kZXRhaWwmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl

Re: Escape window
As mentioned, treating all such rubber on your boat with a good product can minimize shrinking and stiffening due to age, changing temps, UV, etc. I use ArmorAll on a regular basis. They have several different products including a tire care line which works great at keeping rubber looking shiny and new while protecting it from the elements and UV. I just use the original wipes and liquid formula for all the different areas, works great for rubber, vinyl, plastic, etc. Don't forget your rub rails, windshield, hatch, refrigerator, ice maker, and portlight seals, etc. they can also contract, release, and become stiff.

Re: Escape window
Try Motion windows. They make replacement windows for boat. While your at it. Install new glass window that opens. Easy
