Wash down spigots - help

Postby buster53 » April 26th, 2021, 10:07 am

Ok, on my 2001, model 356 (and I'm sure other models as well) I have wash down spigots both at the anchor pulpit and on the aft deck.
The plastic handle on one has broken and the other one is not far from it.
Where can I get these handles. Best I can determine, it is a square 5/16 Sillcock.
I bought a universal Sillcock key that works but can not be permanantly attached. At least I can turn the water on and off when needed, but I would like a permanant handle.

Sounds like my 405 ones are different than yours but have you gone to a rv store near you, many items I've found on the boat are also used in this industry too. Might be worth a shot too.

True, I have found items at an RV store that also work on a boat.

A picture would really help, mine are 1/4 turn, 2007 vintage.

Here you can see both lake water (one with the hose attached) and fresh water on both sides of the anchor. Do yours resemble these? Clink on the picture for a larger view. ;-)

OK, hate to admit this, but I still haven't figured out how to add photos to my posts.

They don't look anything like midnightsun's.

Anyway, I found something at Lowes I think will work. It is a universal style made to fit different styles of faucets. Will find out this weekend.

I have glued those and small clamped them, but all that is temp at best. If they are held on by a screw then all you need is any valve handle with the same size square as the stem.....unfortunately that may require buying the whole valve though. There used to be valve repair stuff at big box places or I like the rv place option, they have parts departments.

Nice pic by the way, ya did good.
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.....

That would be a great candidate for a 3d print! Too bad I do not have the skills to draw it up. Maybe somebody here can draw this up in an STL file? Would be my pleasure to print a pair out for you.

Thanks for the offer, but as I mentioned, I found a universal style handle at Lowe’s I think will do the job. Will find out this weekend
