thru hull discharge unknown source

Postby mitchellp » October 8th, 2021, 1:43 pm

Hi,
I was sitting on the flying bridge when I heard water running, being on a boat that can make one nervous, I found the source of the water - it was being pumped over board like a bilge pump, however i don't beleeve I have one in that area. It has been running for about 3 minutes
The boat is a Carver 1989 38 Aft. I have the AC running in the salon. It is on the starboard side towards the bow.
Thanks for all your help
Mitch

And it's not the water for the AC unit? Perhaps a shower sump? To be running 3 minutes would be unusual though.

Yes it is, it was still way to strong to be water in boat, then the light hit me, i turned off the AC and the water stream quit.
Thanks

Mitch

If you have a 3807, there is an AC discharge at the bow on the starboard side close to the water line. The other two units discharge through the aft corners of the hull but not the same way and are difficult to see. When you turn on one AC unit, water goes through all three units and discharges overboard through these three different areas at the same time.

Viper is spot on about your AC discharge and that boat has 3 bilge pumps and obviously 2 sumps. I used to have a 3807 as well.
