Fresh water pump.

Postby Scott892 » October 30th, 2021, 4:57 pm

My fresh water tank pump filed. It was a Par Max Plus, 4GPM, 12amps, 15 amp fuse. The closest replacement I could find was a Jabsco Par Max, 4GPM, 10 amp, 15 amp fuse. It works but makes a thumping sound and trips the breaker after continued use. Especially when I run the shower?

My dock neighbor suggested that maybe it's too powerful if it's tripping the breaker. But that doesn't seem likely given the specs? Maybe it's just a bad pump?

Before you do anything, like replacing the pump, I suggest replacing the breaker first. Breakers do go bad and yours may be headed that way.

As to the thumping sound…turn on several faucets at the same time, full blast and see if the thumping goes away. Let us know what happens.
