Kariba Washer / Dryer Combo

Postby mikekomm » March 23rd, 2014, 2:27 pm

I have a Kariba washer / dryer combo on my '89 Carver 4207. It takes 2 hours to dry most loads. Is this normal? I'm in Southern Calif with pretty dry climate even on the water. Any ideas? Is Kariba still in business?

That is a pretty normal time for these combo units.

Use the washer/drier at a marina.
I can't stand these combo units. They take forever.

I believe the 4207 had its washer on the port side, in the first cabinet at the steps.
Thanks

I've seen them in 4 locations. to stbd of the stairs going into aft state room as a combo in the closet this is the version we have, to port in the sliding door closet either as a combo or as side by side, in the pantry just fwd of stove stacked version and extend closet 5 inches inboard to port and lastly in the engine room where the hot water heater is and the heater is in the salon where many models have an ice maker.

We are going to rip out the ventless combo and in stall a washer in its place with a vented version in the sliding door closet port side aft stateroom. The reviews of the Combo washer dryers are horrible. I dont want to rip out the port side window to replace these along with salon furniture and Fridge once.
