Slow to drain sink and shower.

Postby trwestman » May 20th, 2023, 8:02 am

(New owner)Carver 506 Aft Cabin sink is draining slow. I have removed the drain to inspect for hair buildup and found none. In my land home I would next remove the P trap and clean it. I found the grey water tank along side the steering linkage. What should I be checking and cleaning to correct this. FYI. Aft Shower drains perfectly.

V-Berth shower drains slowly. Not sure how to address this. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Check the hose line routing to make sure you have a good downward routing.
I had one of the showers not draining good and found the hose had a droop in it in the routing that prevented good flow.
I rerouted the hose to create a good drop angle and no more issues.

Rocket man has a good suggestion. If that isn’t the problem, I’d pour a cup of a good cleaner (Fantastic, Simple Green, etc) into the drain, wait a while and then hit the drain with a water hose to flush it out. Try simple solutions first.

From Home Depot, get a length of 1/4" OD stiff nylon tubing. Push down drain hose. This will clear out the schmuck quickly.
