Shaft Seal Stern Tube Dimensions

Postby gmac98004 » June 10th, 2023, 12:11 am

Hi Everyone,

I'm hauling out next week and in addition to the usual paint/zincs/wax work, we will be replacing the corroded and leaking shaft seals on port shaft. I'll be using the same Tides Marine dripless system that is currently on the shaft.

Does anyone know what our stern tube OD size is on our 1998 355's? I'd really like to get those parts in before we begin the removal process and based on information on the Tides website, there could be several possible sizes.

Thanks for any help!

Thanks Again, Greg

Hello Everyone,

The answer was 2 1/2". Much more to the story which I will post on another thread for better continuity!

Take Care, Greg
