I have 454 Horizon engines and have replaced the fuel pumps on both engines each year now for the past 3 years. The boat is not used much but I do start the engines frequently.

I have been told that there are some mechanics putting boost or lift pumps up stream of the fuel pump. Is this acceptable? Also I have not checked the syphon valves.

Thanks
