Crusader 5.7 TBI Specs

Postby Zarko48 » August 27th, 2018, 10:56 am

Hi All

I have a "new to me" 97 350 Mariner with 1996 (according to the serial #s) 5.7 XL TBI Crusaders with closed cooling. The good news is both engines run great. The bad news is I cannot find any info/specs on these engines. I know they "probably" use 15W40 engine oil and "probably" hold about 5 1/5 litres of oil. I'm not even sure of the HP rating ~270? Cooling system capacity? I have a copy of the parts manual but that doesn't list the specs I'm looking for.

Thx in advance. Any help would be appreciated

Your oil fill cap should be labeled 40W motor oil and depending on which type of oil pan you have will determine how many quarts it will take. Now 15W40 is an option I guess if you so choose. Your TBI's should be 290 HP.
