The second gauge should be for your aux tank(s)

I have a good friend that has a house on Barfield Blvd Marco. Beautiful place to live!

So I have a 43 Carver with twin Cummins Diesels. I have been trying to transfer fuel from the starboard to Port with teh transfer switch. A couple of questions. Do the engines have to be running to transfer? Can you transfer with the engines off? How fast does this transfer happen? Should I be able to see the gauges move?

Thanks

I don't have the same boat or diesels but,,,, you should be able to do this without engines running. The ignition keys most likely have to be on to do the transfer and to energize the gauges. If you don't see the gauges moving after a couple minutes, stop and regroup, as you can overfill a tank and dump fuel overboard out of a vent if you are not watching everything.
