Zinc location on Volvo Penta tamd74p

Postby David M. » May 9th, 2019, 9:16 am

I'm having trouble locating the zincs on my 2000 Volvo Penta tamd74p, I have located one, but I'm under the impression there are 3 per engine. I cant seem to find and online source to help me locate these. Any advise?

I have 7 on my TAMD 122's. Two in the heat exchanger, one in the charge air cooler, two in the oil cooler, and two in the tranny cooler.

Follow up question. I'm going to replace my zinc pencil anodes with magnesium since mine is a fresh water boat. Should I expect to lose a significant amount of water when changing these out? Will I be introducing air into the system that will need bled out? Finally, close the sea cocks before replacing? Appreciate any guidance. Thanks
