Draining Racor filter

Postby Makin Waves » October 14th, 2017, 4:33 pm

When I was winterizing I saw water in the glass bowl on one racor filter. I drained the water and it looks like it filled with fuel
I will not start engines until spring, Volvo TAMD 75 EDC 2006 Caver 46MY. I drained the filter after I winterized the engine
Did I drain water correctly by just using the drain valve at the bottom?
I will change filter elements in spring

Before you leave it for the winter, make sure that valve isn't leaking now or you'll be in for a surprise in the spring. I've had some leak from draining after they haven't been used for years.
