356 and 404

Postby PJHoffnet » January 18th, 2017, 9:52 pm

I thought I saw this question asked before, but when I searched I couldn't find the thread.

Is there 356 basically just a 404 with out the cockpit?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, we own a 390CPMY. LOVE the cockpit for many purposes. Love the boat too!

Thanks G36 for the fact sheet - facts are always the best!!!!

Tony, thanks for the 'endorsement' for the cockpit. The added room it affords for boarding compared to a simple swim platform astern is really important in our minds. We feel it's a must when a tender is stored astern - just too tight to make boarding safe when you have to dodge/squeeze by lines/clamps/features of the tender 'holding' system.

While I'd love to have the money to put in a davit/winch forward and lay the tender on the open bow area, I'm pretty sure we'll end up with some C-clamp style storage astern. I see you have some type of double davit system astern on your baby - how's that working out for you?

The system works super. We use a hardbottom dinghy and have a 7 HP attached. Raises it straight perfect every time. We have it off set a bit so it doesn't block the transom door.
