Ok, I'll play.....

First quarter 2018 winter storage bill - 337
Balance of Winter Storage/Paid boatyard work (bottom paint,zincs,repack stuffing boxes,recondition props,wax hull) - 1856
Slip 175/month for 6 months - 1050
Spare Float switch - 33.15
Spare Bilge pump - 109.99
Handheld VHF - 81.99
Black streak remover - 8.99
Various hardware (screws/fittings/etc) - 30
Crusader blue paint - 13.44
A/C return filter - 8.99
Cleaning brush - 5.99
Wet exhaust hose 1 1/4, 2 groco sea strainers - 926.13
Wet exhaust hose 1 1/2 (didn't need), Scandvik hose clamps - 318.38
Sea strainer fittings - 96
More Scandvik hose clamps - 90.08
Impellers, first aid kit, sink sprayer, wire crimper, float switch - 135.68
Holding tank treatment - 25.99
Navigational rules of the road book - 9.4
3M 4000 UV - 14.07
Latches - 21.48

For a so-far grand total of $5210.75 USD. I'm sure I forgot a few small items and not all sales tax/shipping was captured in the above prices. I did have some pretty significant maintenance items done both by myself and the boatyard I had her hauled at, so that accounted for a majority of the above. Anyways, thank you for making me actually sit down and figure out how much I've dropped on this boat only halfway through 2018. I was perfectly happy living in ignorance just paying the bills as they come. This turned out to be a painful learning experience :-O :-D

It's not that painful when you factor in all the fun you have with the boat.

Counting the spend rate of my sweet moola kinda takes the fun out for me. It's like constantly looking at the fuel GPH burn rate rather then the level of enjoyment and satisfaction one gets from boating.
But I must say that some of the numbers that I am seeing are 'well south' of a boater living 20 miles east of the Big Apple!

I have noticed that dockage in other parts of the country dwarf what we pay here in Michigan.

Dock fee is $5000 a year plus electricity and cable. I just purchased my 405 so my numbers will be skewed somewhat.
But engine and generator maintenance, props refinished and repitched, color sanded, polished and waxed will be around $15,000 when I pick it up in a week or two. $2500 to $3000 for fuel and a Captain to drive it 3 or 4 days from Galveston TX to Mississippi.
Then an additional $5000-6000 including the crane to put it in the water and truck it the last hour to my slip. :banghead:

I dont even have the boat yet. Ya sure this is all worth it?
I am not tallying all this up because I really dont want know. Lol

Rick , it always amazes me how reasonable your costs are for repair and maintenance ....you wouldn't want to be up here, believe me.....dont ever leave there... :-D ....have a good holiday.
The above is strictly my opinion always based on years of doing...remember to support local business , it pays back.
