Carver 28 Voyager

Postby Torsson » July 10th, 2018, 3:54 pm

Hello. Im thinking of buying a Carver 28 Voyager from 1988 and would like to ask you all a few questions

1. what i should take a closer look at?
2. Did this boat sell with dual 350 crusaders?
3. Is the 2 Crusader 350 reliable?
4. How is the prices of parts for the engines? (Im from sweden so i think the prices is a bit more exspensive)
5. Any idéa what the fuel comsumption is at 8 knots vs 18 knots vs WOT.
6. What does these boats sell for ( i know it depends on the condition but i can only find this 1 for sale in sweden)

Hope anyone can give me some meat on the bone before i look at the boat in real life on friday.

Sorry for my bad english.

Depending on condition I have seen them around me for anywhere from $2500 -$15000 USD.
The above link is from one I know was in pretty good shape for a 30 year old boat.

Crusaders were put in as an option, but Carver did put a lot of them in for stock dealer units. They were the best quality option choice and are really tough engines. The guy who started Crusader was an aviation engineer, so he used aviation standards on the marinization elements, as well as much thicker seals and gaskets through out the engines. They do like fuel. use non-ethanol gas only. I have a 330 Mariner, I get 15 GPH at 3100 RPM, and 19 MPH. I would imagine 8 knots will be around 8 GPH. Now you can check and see. Publish your findings. Welcome aboard. 8-) er
