So the Leafs lost.. ....Anyway, real nice today, waterproofed the bimini, the tarp is coming off early next week after the last snow of the season.. :-O..... Lots of flooding up here, hopefully it resolves itself without too much damage.

Wednesday afternoon I finally cut down my shrinkwrap prepping the boat for launch.

Here she sits.

Image

Still need to remove the shrinkwrap bracing but I could do that in the water if I had to.

It's getting closer. Unfortunately it is supposed to snow Saturday night. Supposed to get 1 inch of the white stuff. At least it won't stick around long.

Hoping to finally launch next week sometime.

Update - confirmed launch date of May 6, early AM. Weather for next week looks like crap, so I am glad we are delayed to the 6th. Did some 3M Finesse application on topside yesterday. Boy, if you don't follow the instructions the right way, you can really make a mess. Going out to wax those areas today. Also, going to the happy juice store today to stock up the happy hour cabinet. Knob Creek on sale at great price! Gift pack leftover from holidays for $20. So it is 9 years & 6 mo old. Both standard & rye. 8-) er

Today was sort of nice so the boss and I got the winter cover and frame off the boat and back home. Actually the hardest part was getting the top back up, it has the thick plastic windows and we spent a long time stretching it to get it to fit......can't pick up a pencil now though ... :-D ...so glad that is over, now we wait for marina to compound and polish/wax.

I had a similar problem with my cockpit cover. After sitting all winter it was a bear to get back on for the first time this season.

It's risky to button and zip up canvas in the cold. If a panel with a window won't fit, don't force it or you run the risk of the window splitting as they are brittle when cold, this gets worse with age. Best to do up as much as you can and wait for warmer temps before fastening the tighter areas.

Bud - sounds like you have Strataglass. I have the same. Really gonna be a pain to reset, as I have no real choice but to do it at launch. Sunday is supposed to be sunny, so I will lay out all tops in sun to hopefully soften or stretch. Monday is launch. May have to do some pole adjustments, and then return to normal tension when the warm weather comes. Remember to use only Imar cleaner on those windows. My Strata is coming back to clear after the previous owner used Plexus. Plexus is a great product, but I do notice a difference in clarity by using Imar. 8-) er
