This is how the belt tension is adjusted, it moves the wheel up and down and locks the setting, no springs etc. Nothing like the ones found in autos. Works quite nicely, but as I said it is possible have the bolt with the gear not seated in the track and it actually looks crooked in the pic....we will see.
The above is strictly my opinion always based on years of doing...remember to support local business , it pays back.

Some are spring loaded but would need serial number to check for sure.

Bud37, do you need to remove the tensioner bracket to remove water pump for impeller replacement?

No.......just loosen the belt off a bit....I would remove the raw water pump bracket from the block then go from there..actually quite easy......that way you can pull the pump out a bit and remove the hoses......mark everything with tape so you put it back the same way......this is if you have the same as me , the plastic pump. Easier to replace the impeller on the bench or dinette table....... :-D

Ok final result looks like bracket is bent. Compared to starboard and somehow port bracket definitely bent.

All bolts tight, pulley spins free and smooth.

Not sure how, I had marina do impellers before splash this spring but can’t imagine how they would have bent it.

Thanks for the replies all!

Well thats interesting, sounds about right......all this time I thought you were doing the job yourself. Someone probably stepped on it getting in or out on that side. Good luck man . I hope they make good....

I had to replace the tensioner pully on my 2005 Crusader. The 'tell tale' was black belt dust in the compartment on the port side.
