Carver White Paint

Postby jack1pryor » July 9th, 2019, 7:45 pm

The radar beam on my 1985 Carver 36 is peeling. Does anyone know where I can get the correct paint?

Impossible to find a simple match for an 85, due to weather effect. A really good fiberglass repair guy did a great job with matching an early 90's, but he used some color tint mixed in to a base white. You can get that color tint at any good marine store that offers fiberglass repair kits. 8-) er

Cooler is correct in that the current colour is likely a few shades off the original at production time due to weathering and dependent on previous maintenance practices. A good fiberglass shop will have a contact they could call to come in and do an electronic colour match, then mix the paint to match that spec. It rarely comes out perfect without needing a tweak but a good paint/fiberglass guy can do that at application time.

Have you tried contacting Carver with your hull number? They should be able to give you the information.
