Sea Cox Issue

Postby Rickmoir » November 2nd, 2014, 10:09 pm

I have a 456 with 2 faulty Sea Cox. I bought the boat last year and it needed to be rebonded. The handles broke off two of these sea cox due to the bonding issue. My question being put out there is "can I change these sea cox myself?" I will be back to the boat is Stuart shortly and am not sure what to do. I am mechanicle but this is a new page for me. Any suggestions. Thanks.

If it were me I'd give ita go. Look at pix of new cocks. The worst part is they are probably bedded in 3m 5200. Read up on it. This stuff is tough to work with.
If the cocks are difficult to get to you may just want a tech to do the job.
But it should be easy. May have to drill the screws out but that's fairly easy from the ground up.
Rebed with 5200.
Buy only good name brand hardware
Thanks

Thanks Fred , We just arrived at the marina . I'll give it a go tomorrow while my wife tackles the m
mold issues. We paid to have our dehumidifier and fans running over the summer but it looks like someone here borrowed our extension. SURPRISE.
