Usual advice, survey, engine survey by CAT dealer etc. BUT, you may want to get the serial numbers from the blocks BEFORE you go any further. Cat had serious problems with the 3126 blocks in the early to mid nineties with porous blocks. I believe they subcontracted the blocks to a manufacturer in Belgium and they pumped out junk. Apparently CAT looked after most if not all of the issues with warranty and even out of warranty on these engines.

Do your homework on these (Cat) engines before going further. If you have the good engines, you will have a great boat with tons of room.
