New Carver 356 Owner.

Postby Troy-Sodus Point » November 28th, 2019, 1:24 pm

Happy Thanksgiving All!
After touring a friends 406, we decided to move up from our Trojan F32 to a Carver Motor Yacht this past winter. We found a 1999 356 in the Niagara River (Grand Island) in May, quickly had it structurally and mechanically surveyed upon the banks acceptance of our bid (she was a repo). After a few weeks of "getting to know her" and getting the maintenance caught up, we made the trip from the Niagara River to Sodus Point via Lake Erie, the Welland Canal, and the south shore of Lake Ontario. The boat performed flawlessly and we have enjoyed the season on her. This forum has been a precious resource and we are looking forward to many more seasons to come.

Thank You All

Troy

There's a number of us 355/356 owners here. Any questions you might have, ask away. Good chance one of us will have an answer.

FYI....the Carver 400/404 is the same boat, but with a cockpit added.

Mike,
We slip/store at Sodus Marina in Sodus Point, we were able to keep the same slip with the new boat.

I did buy it from National Liquidators, they were great to work with. Biggest issue with the boat was it hadn't been washed in a year, she did clean up nicely
