My Raritan ice maker suddenly stopped making ice

Postby kkochner » May 5th, 2021, 11:41 am

My ice maker stopped making ice all of a sudden when I turned it off and back on a bit later it made one round of ice but it’s not automatically make more like it’s supposed to?

Any quick fixes or ideas that I might be able to try myself?

Appreciate it!!!

The simple first checks are to ensure the lever on the ice module is in the down position and that your water system is on and pressurized. Can you hear the compressor kicking in and running after it finishes calling for water? Does the compartment get cold?

Just had the same issue. Turn the unit off. Open the door and remove the plastic cover which faces you on the front of the ice tray. Inside there is the circuit board with a wheel that controls the position of the ice lever, water fill and even cycles the compressor on and off. Remove the four screws that attach it to the ice tray. Pull it off and clean the contacts with some sandpaper. I believe there were four or five contacts on mine that over time turned green with corrosion. Reinstall and give it a shot. Worked got me. Good luck.

AS long as the temp is getting cold enough in icemaker should be able to get you going easy enough.. There's a couple different styles of the actual ice mold module gear can be small or the larger plastic gear. Don't turn it by hand!
Depending on the type there is different fixes and troubleshootong. These are basically universal ice mold assemblies If you can post a pic of the unit with the front cover popped off it will help know which you have. Usually simple fix and if not the whole ice mold or replacement module from amazon or appliance parts store. Not from raritan
If you'll get on YouTube and search ice maker no ice complaints you'll see some videos on the subject from any make of fridge ie whirlpool etc. Will help with troubleshooting the issue or post back here with info. With the module you have.
