1983 3207 aft cabin

Postby tinbanger00 » May 29th, 2013, 4:41 pm

Hello all,
Just stumbled upon this site and figured it would be a great place to learn and offer insight.
The little woman and I have been boating and cruising for almost 20 years now, and this will be our fourth boat .(they keep getting bigger)
We are also members of United Staes Power Squadron and enjoy the company of many boating friends.
Boating here in mid-michigan on the east side of the state doesn't give us a vey long season but we try to get 1 or 2 small trips a year in .Last year we purchase our first carver in Cheboygan and took it under the mackinaw bridge (for me the highlight of the trip) and spent 6 days on "Moonstruck" bringing her home , powered by 260 crusader engines we avg. 12 gal per hour.......Hey if it was about money we wouldn't own a boat.

Thanks for the site,
Marilyn and Paul

Going under that bridge is something, isn't it.

We bought our first boat, a brand new Carver Riviera in Sep 88. The summer of 89, with our 14 month old son, left New Buffalo for a three week boating trip. Stopped at every other port on the way to the island, and then the ones we missed on the way back. Going under the bridge was special.

Hope to do the trip again next year if we ever get done rehabbing the 36 Mariner we now have.
Thanks
Fred

I don't really know why. I've been under bridges in DT Chicago, always go under the two bridges in St Joe. Nothing about those bridges.

Maybe because the bridge is a gateway of sorts? Maybe the annual walk across the bridge. Maybe it's seeing the towers an a hour or so away by boat, getting lined up with it and driving an hour or so watching it get bigger and bigger and bigger and knowing our destination was just on the other side. Driving under that thing - pictures do no service. man, that thing is up there! I really don;t know why, but it was just cool.
Thanks

Kinda like for those ofus in California going under the Golden Gate Bridge? I feel ya!

I like your 3207. My 3007 is basically the same boat but with a shorter aft cabin and no second head. Amazing room for a 30 (32) footer. I have been in Baylners most of my life. This is my 7th boat, and 4 of them were Bayliners. I really love my Carver. Since our boats are very similar, am very interested in fresh deals for projects to makenher even better.

this past weekend I installed a range with oven for the wife, the neighbor installed a new one and sold me his for $40.00 it even works perfectly ....a bit bigger project than i anticipated but not that bad ...about 4-5 hrs.
then Sunday morning we discovered the electric head was jammed up......seems the granddaughter put a baby wipe down the hole......what a pain ...not how i wanted to start my morning...4 hrs later and a mess to clean up works again......note to self: remove baby wipes from boat.....having a windlass installed as we speak....next week, a fresh water pump.
