Hello board! Been a proud owner of a 350 mariner for 4 years now and love being a Carver owner! hoping that I can be as helpful here as I have seen other be. I'm a audio / video specialist by trade and boater by love. We call Old Hickory Lake our home which is part of the Cumberland River in Nashville,TN. I'm about to replace the starboard fuel tank which won't be fun and I will be doing a step by step photo session of the process that I will be able to share.

Welcome..... being a 350 owner I am also looking forward to witnessing this process. Just curious, what is the reason the tank needs to be replaced.

Cheers

Apparently there might be a flaw in the design of the fuel tank, so far the starboard tank has been the only side I've seen multiple people report issues with . From my understanding a stress crack or two becomes visible on the bottom of the tank and continues to get worse over time. Mine showed itself under the first really cold night we had, I was lucky enough to catch it as it started since I was picking something up from our boat that day (last week). We have a local shop that will do a chemical boil to clean the tank before a machine shop will either repair the original or build a duplicate. I will be cutting the wall out and the bottom of the pull out couch area so the tank can be pulled into the cablin, then taken the tank out the sliding door. If the proper size cut is made, I should be able to make only one large cut out which makes sealing everything back up easier.

You must be the one that we keep sharing a covelet (little cove sorta, mostly a wide spot in the creek) from Drakes creek. I'm the 360 MoreNautiville, from Creekwood. I believe somebody else once mentioned your vocation, I need to talk to you about doing some audio upgrades to ours, I believe I swam over once last summer and asked about your speakers. Let me know what to do, it would be nice to get that done by summer also! That will be alot more fun than my current multi month (only 'cause I cannot devote much time to it) project, a vacuflush and poop tank/purasan system addition. Ewww....
