How is the flooring holding up with the temp extremes....I assume you pull your boat in the winter.


Thanks for your kind words. It is holding up great! But we are liveaboards (in our third year) and we try to avoid extreme temperatures! ;-) We typically head north for the hurricane season (June thru November) and then back south for the rest of the year. So the min/max temps we typically see are approx 40/90F. Sometimes in the 20s, but we try to avoid that! :-O The only time we pull the boat is for a bottom job or other maintenance that requires a haulout.

With all that said, I have been a woodworker most of my life and I agree that a temp range of 0-110F plus humidity issues would probably be something to be concerned with. The plywood subfloor (3/4" birch) is very stable, but that's a lot to ask of it.

There was a material I had considered using that is actually stronger than a similar plywood thickness but the cost was substantially more - about 4 times more if I remember correctly. I can't remember what it was but a Google search would probably turn it up.
