Lower Unit Gear Oil

I acquired a dinghy for our boat last season. This will be the first year I am doing spring maintenance on the outboard motor. It is a Mercury 9.9 two stroke.
Our last boat had Mercruiser bravo 3 out drives and I used Quicksilver High Performance Gear oil in the lower units. Mercury's website recommends Quicksilver Premium Gear OIl 80W90 for outboards under 75 hp. I think the other stuff is 90. I have got a bunch left over from the other boat. Is it OK to use it?

Yes - either oil will work fine. The high performance stuff is more expensive and has additional additives for higher gear loading. :down:

thanks Guys.... That was my gut feel but I alway like to check. I also seems the High Perfomance is more available.

It's been the standard go-to for a while so fewer bother to carry the Premium anymore.
