Buying a Voyager 530, need survey

Postby Max Sand » February 2nd, 2024, 5:09 pm

Well, I did it. Put an offer on a Carver Voyager 530 and it was accepted. I'm looking for a surveyor who is up on the Voyager model line. Prefer in the mid-west but can be any location if they are willing to travel.

I did a pretty good inspection but didn't test anything yet as the boat is up dry, and no power to anything.

May I suggest a diesel engine mechanical survey as well, with a performance sea trial when comes the time....good luck with this adventure.
The above is strictly my opinion.

What part of the Mid-west? That is a pretty big area. I may have someone for you, but he is not going to venture too far from my area. Doesn't have to, has plenty of work. I believe he worked for Carver for a while also, so that's a plus. 8-) er

That's really not that far from Green Bay. You might have to pay for an overnight stay, but that might not add that much for a good survey for that large of a vessel!

Name is Rich Reichelsdorfer. email is rich@marineproservice.com 920-889-0758 If he doesn't want to travel that far, he can at least point you in some direction. He did not work for Carver in the past. Good luck! 8-) er

Have you checked with any local marinas or boatyards?
