2001 Carver 444 - Forward Salon Wall Cabinet

Postby curtmrobinson » December 30th, 2025, 10:55 am

Hi Everyone, new owners of a 2001 444. On the forward salon wall (between the salon and the forward stateroom) there's a cabinet. Ours doesn't have it! Any possible resources on finding one from maybe a salvaged or other one? Not looking (at this point) at fabricating one. Pictures of our boat (without) and an example of one with the cabinet. Thanks Curt

Hi Curt,
Congrats on the new to you boat! We bought our Carver last year and love it. In my hunt for parts, I have come across drawers on eBay from parted out carvers but it's very hit or miss. I haven't found any specific salvage companies that have been a one stop shop. Great Lakes Skipper purchased a lot of Carver parts/trim inventory when Carver shut down so they are a good place to start when looking for those parts. I'm hoping someone else chimes in....I'd love a good source too! Good luck in your search.

Just my 2 cents. In my 2001 CY396 I have the exact same interior and it has the cabinet. Before I bought hat boat I looked at a lot of Carvers and never saw one without the cabinet. I did meet a guy once that had to change his refrigerator and make a new drawer to fit below it. He did a pretty good job matching the cherry wood.

I know you said , not thinking of this yet but if you do.....One thing to consider, make a cabinet using a contrasting design so you don't have to try to match. That way slightly off will not be so noticeable.
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.
