Spring Launch - AutoPilot and Navigation/Anchor lights Dont Work

Hi Fellow Carver Owners

I launched today and all systems go, except my autopilot wont power up and my Navi/Anchor lights wonts either.

I suspect it has something to do with the 12V DC Breaker Box on the bridge. That is where both of those units run through. I have checked the circuit breakers to assure they are one, and they are. So, just wondering if I am missing something obvious (Wouldn't be the first time). All the other circuits that run through that breaker box seem to be functioning (radar, deck lights, etc, etc).

They did some electrical work on the boat over the winter, adding a few AC plug receptacles, but I don't see how that would relate.

Any thoughts or checks would be appreciated.

Thanks
Rich

Rich, the auto pilot most likely has an inline fuse after the breaker. You may want to locate and check it. The nav lights SHOULD be breaker to switch to lights, but you never know if someone changed the power source connection.
I would start with a volt meter and check the output of the breakers. Then the nav light switch and if good 12v, check at the bulb mount at the lights. Maybe just a bit of corrosion, it happens.
Also, if any of your ac work was on the bridge maybe you accidently disconnected a ground wire somewhere?

Hi Tom

Thanks for your input on this, was helpful. I found the culprit on the auto pilot. Once I was able to get behind the instruments (which I actually learned Carver makes it pretty easy to get to by removing the bridge seat backing), it appeared that during the plug installation this winter, the tech pulled out the connector on the auto pilot. Simple fix.

Nav lights fixed to.

Thanks again for your thoughts.

Rich
