It's winter cold and the snow has not come yet and I'm bored so boat projects come to mind. I want to convert the Jabsco spotlight to the LED variety however the boat is inaccessible and wearing shrink.

My project is simply to replace the sealed beam housing with an aftermarket LED one however I do not know if the beam used is actually a standard size 4 x 6. I know Jabsco sells replacement sealed beams however there is no mention of physical size. Want to use something like this.

Model is a Jabsco 146SL like this. http://www.xylemflowcontrol.com/marine- ... hlight.htm

I have a 135SL apart and the light itself measures 3-5/8 x 5-7/8. It sits into a molded case inside the fixture with an countersunk edge to accommodate the perimeter edge of the sealed beam, so it would have to be the same size to fit into this casing. The paperwork that come with the unit though states that the bulb is 50W 3-1/2 x 6" The sealed beam has GE H9405 labeled on the back. It has S22 molded into the front glass.

Having said all that, pretty sure the 146 was bigger though.

Wow, all the info I could ever as for and then some. Thanks. Looks like it is just slightly smaller than a standard 4 x 6 sealed beam so unfortunately my LED conversion will not work. Was able to find this link thanks to the for from Viper for others who may want to replace the existing sealed beam. Although not LED, it is a heck of a lot cheaper then the Jabsco units which go for about $60. https://www.replacementlightbulbs.com/lamph9405.html
